Our grape varieties are optimally suited to a west coast temperate climate. They are hand-tended in our certified organic vineyard. Our first harvest was in the Fall of 2008.
A versatile white wine grape from which a broad spectrum of wines is produced. These dry complex wines are variously described as buttery, creamy, nutty and smoky; their fruit descriptors include apple, lemon, melon and pineapple.
A Riesling-type vinifera from the Loire Valley in France . This early-ripening grape is a cross between Madeleine Royale and Précoce de Malingre grapes and grows well in cooler climates. Madeleine Angevine makes an attractive fruity wine with a flowery nose.
This cross of Gewurztraminer and Madeleine Angevine developed in Germany has incredible spice and floral aromas; with flavours of grapefruit, honey, spice, pears and apricots. An early ripener, this grape looks and tastes similar to Gewurztraminer. Descriptors include spice and lychee fruit aromas.
This varietal was grown throughout the extensive vineyards of medieval Germany. Known as Sylvaner in France, Italy and Australia. This cool climate, early ripening and productive grape, Sylvaner is a parent to many German vine crossings, such as Bacchus, Ehrenfelser.
Imparts a luscious and unusual fruity flavour that is at the same time crisp and citrusy. The character of the wine is muscular, with or without oak fermentation. Dry, light-bodied and lightly fruity, with an occasional toasty quality. Pinot Gris is a wonderful summer wine because it is so versatile and pairs well with Northwest cuisine.
The low-acid, high-sugar Ortega grape produces wines with delightful floral characteristics and hints of peach in both aroma and flavour. Ortega has aromas of Muscat and peach.
This grape is high in sugars, so is suited to cooler climates. It is suitable for making both sparkling and still wines, and is a good blending variety.
Is most commonly used as a colour-enhancing blend wine. Agria's chief attributes are its dark colour, high vigour growth, cool climate friendly and ripens early with good sugar content.
Is found to have distinct berry aromas. Leon Millot typically produces structured Burgundy-like red wines with rich deep colour and round approachable tannins. It ripens with a nice sugar and moderate acid. Used for blending to add colour and deepen body.
The red grape that produces the spicy, rich, complex wine. Pinot Noirs go well with almost any food. A light body and fragrant wine.
Hardy, vigorous and productive, Zweigelt buds late and ripens early, which are very useful traits in the cool growing regions. Zweigelt can be counted on to consistently produce medium bodied reds that have a nice mix of currants, herbs and tannins.
