Cliff & Barb operate a successful Investment Management practice on Vancouver Island. With wine as a second love and an eye to the future, Cliff & Barb bring finance and marketing skills to the business and look forward to introducing our wines to the world. The wine business is planned to be a vital part of an eventual ‘retirement’ and a long-term legacy.
When people first tasted our wines we got surprising results. France, they said, perhaps the Southeast. Italy, others thought, definitely Italy. Australia, some were absolutely convinced. The experienced tasters were surprised to find out our wines are actually from a little-known region: BC’s Gulf Islands. Imagine that. A place where our grapesmiths revel in the get-your-hands-dirty world of winemaking and are only too pleased to gently shift the way you taste the world.
The MI speaks for itself...it is the broken, but enclosing circle that makes it fun.
Imagine a hot August afternoon, vines laden with plump, ripening clusters. A glass of cold, white wine is poured...crisp, clear, and fragrant. The deck beckons but so does the view of the vineyard. Pictures are taken to capture the essence of a small piece of Tuscany in coastal B.C. Back to the wine...condensation has trickled down the outside of the glass, forming a small pool at the base of the stem. The glass is lifted, the bouquet tested, and that first sip is divine. But wait! There is a circle left behind, clearly indicating where it all began.
